Meet Jessica Holmstrom, a Wahi Partner Realtor at Designer Real Estate who’s been serving clients in the Calgary area for the past three years.

How did you get interested in becoming a REALTOR®?

In the early 2000s I burst out of design School with my degree in interior design, ready to take on the world. I have always been extremely passionate about construction, interior architecture, and seeing spaces differently. My career took me into new home construction as an interior designer, where I developed a deep understanding of homes and their components, as well as an eye for detail and quality of work. 

 

I learned the city, the trades, and revelled in the process of watching something designed on a piece of paper take shape in real life. In hopes of stretching my wings further, and taking on new challenges, I decided to incorporate real estate into the mix in 2021.

 

What do you love most about working in this industry?

Working as a Realtor allows me to add a new modality to my design toolbelt. It’s a unique role where you must expand your knowledge to cover all facets of real estate. From acreages to commercial properties and financing to construction, there is a big playing field in real estate that you need to become an expert in [to succeed]. This is especially true when working with investors.

 

There is also the amazing and rewarding component of working with clients on the biggest purchase of their lives. Being their sounding board, their support, and their expert in all things real estate is both an honour and a privilege. My clients are not just clients – I want to be an ally who will be there through all the future stages of home ownership and beyond. I base my ethics and [business] on personal service, transparent communication and a tailored approach. I stand beside [my clients] and guide them through the process – regardless of the type of purchase.  In both buying and selling, my focus is to advise and educate as needed to any level of client – [whether that’s] the seasoned veteran or the first-time buyer.

Tell us about your experience working with Wahi. 

Wahi has been an amazing partner in helping clients start their journey into real estate. Along with their partnership with Rocket Mortgage, they are a powerhouse in providing real estate services and all things related to home ownership. Wahi has been great to work with not only because of their fabulous communication style, but the ease of their program for both clients and Realtors.
