Where to Live: Peel

Mississauga/Peel consists of three municipalities: Mississauga, Brampton, and Caledon. While many people wouldn’t consider it the hub of popular nightlife culture, just because it isn’t considered the “big city,” doesn’t mean you should completely write it off. The residents of this area don’t have to wander too far outside the region to enjoy a lively nightlife, as there are a variety of cool and happening spots to entertain everyone from music lovers, wine connoisseurs, bar hoppers, and more.

1. Mississauga City Centre, Peel

As its name suggests, this neighbourhood is the official downtown core of Mississauga. Don’t let its suburban location fool you; it’s Canada’s sixth largest city and one of the most vibrant and multicultural communities in the GTA. With its growing skyline and flourishing population, Mississauga offers an attractive balance between the hustle and bustle of city life and the domiciliary feel of suburbia. And if you’re looking for the city’s best restaurants, bars, and popular hangouts, City Centre has plenty of options to choose from. Check out:

  • & Company Resto Bar: Grab a bite to eat at this 15,000 square foot industrial-chic venue that turns into a nightclub as the evening progresses.
  • The Rec Room: Bring out your inner child by enjoying fun activities such as VR, ping pong, and pool, or catch a live show all while enjoying a drink or two.
  • Haze Lounge: Live music, mocktails, and shisha are just a few of the things you can indulge in at Haze Lounge.

2. Downtown Brampton, Peel

Located within the GTA and the municipality of Peel, Brampton officially became a city in 1974.  Downtown Brampton is undergoing a revitalization to create a vibrant and connected community by focusing on popular local events and activities. It’s also where you’ll find a plethora of shops, restaurants and bars at your disposal. Try some refreshing cocktails and live music at Tracks Brew Pub, or hit up karaoke nights at Magnum’s Bar and Eatery — there’s always something happening in Downtown Brampton.

3. Queen Street Corridor, Peel

You’ll find the Queen Street Corridor nestled in the heart of Brampton, and if you live in this part of town, you’ll have a selection of local hotspots to choose from. For those who like dancing the night away, Club Jack Rollers offers 7000 square feet of dance floor space and regular special events. For the more laidback crowd, check out the international wine list at Fanzorelli’s Restaurant and Wine Bar, or Maaguire’s Pub if you fancy some karaoke or a couple rounds of darts.

“Whether you’re a sports fanatic, a music enthusiast, or prefer to paint the town red by hitting up the hottest nightclubs and lounges, you’re sure to find something that suits your interests in these vibrant and bustling neighbourhoods.”

Where to Live: Toronto

As the country’s most culturally diverse and eclectic city, Toronto is without a doubt the best city to party in. And by party, we don’t just mean dancing until the crack of dawn. If that’s your thing, then you can definitely find countless nightclubs in the Entertainment District or the Church-Yonge corridor that play all types of music. If you prefer to listen to music instead, you can catch live shows in historic local venues or catch the latest musical at the Royal Alexandra Theatre. Add that to the list of countless brewpubs, cocktail bars, sophisticated lounges, and cheap, local watering holes, and you’ll never run out of things to do and places to visit.

1. Entertainment District, Toronto

They don’t call it the Entertainment District for nothing, and it’s easy to see why. Located in the heart of downtown Toronto, this area was known as the city’s Garment District in the early part of the 20th century thanks to its industrial roots. By the end of the century, a complete one-eighty turned it into the hub of Toronto nightlife. From nightclubs to chic lounges, cocktail bars, sporting events, live music, and theatre — whatever you’re looking for, you’re bound to find it in the Entertainment District. Check out:

  • The Fifth Social Club: Dance the night away in an ex-loft turned upscale lounge and nightclub.
  • Horseshoe Tavern: A staple in the Toronto music scene, you can check out local and touring music acts and play some pool while sipping on your favourite brew.
  • BarChef: Get creative with your cocktails in this intimate bar with over 5,000 bitters made in-house.

2. St. Lawrence, Toronto

Home of the famous St. Lawrence market – known for being the city’s culinary focal point for over 200 years — this neighbourhood is also a prime spot for late-night hangouts. If you like board games, craft beer, and whisky, check out C’est What. Sports lovers will feel right at home at Score on King, while The Corner Place hosts regular DJ nights and live bands, and has a spacious patio ideal for late summer night drinks.

3. Church-Yonge Corridor, Toronto

This vibrant downtown enclave features an eclectic blend of students and professionals who congregate in unison to enjoy the myriad of restaurants and bars that dot this neighbourhood. And there are a lot to choose from — over 150 to be more precise. You can choose between the speakeasy, jazzy vibes of The Reservoir Lounge, enjoy the rooftop views from the upscale Hair of the Dog pub, or the more relaxed environment courtesy of the Artful Dodger. And this is just the tip of the iceberg.
