Outside of the Toronto and Vancouver regions, Canada’s housing market started the year on solid ground in January, says the RPS-Wahi House Price Index.

In December, detached homes joined other Canadian property types undergoing year-over-year price declines, according to the RPS-Wahi House Price Index.

Canadian home prices took a tumble on a year-over-year basis this November as a fourth major housing market entered negative territory.

This October was the first month in more than two years to see home prices down or flat for all types of properties tracked by the RPS-Wahi House Price Index.

While the RPS-Wahi House Price Index was unchanged on a year-over-year basis in September, select markets are beginning to see price growth accelerate.
