Mississauga Valley is a neighbourhood in central Mississauga.  Bounded by Burnhamthorpe Road to the north, Cawthra Road to the east, Dundas Street to the south, and on the west side by Hurontario Street, this family-friendly community offers easy access to all of the city centre’s amenities.

 

Residents of Mississauga Valley enjoy being near a good selection of schools, a community centre, lots of parks and green space, and easy access to public transit as well as commuter highways. For shopping and dining, the neighbourhood is conveniently located just south of the Square One Shopping Centre. You’ll find a wide assortment of housing options that are affordable by Mississauga standards.

The housing stock in the area is a diverse mix of detached and semi-detached homes in addition to some townhouses and condo complexes. The east side of the neighbourhood contains single-family homes predominantly, while the west has a high concentration of older condo buildings.

 

Mississauga Valley’s streets are family-friendly as they are set out in a curvilinear street pattern with sidewalks. The houses and lots are average in size. Most of the homes in this neighbourhood have a single- or double-car garage out front.

Mississauga Valley’s local arts scene is anchored by the Living Arts Centre on Living Arts Drive. This not-for-profit, charitable organization operates the premiere arts-and-culture facility in the heart of Mississauga. The centre welcomes more than 400,000 discerning and culturally diverse visitors each year. It features a stunning landmark atrium, three presentation-ready theatres, seven professional craft studios, and an attractive in-house restaurant.

 

Residents of Mississauga Valley also frequent the Cineplex movie theatre across the street from Square One Shopping Centre.

The popular Square One mall is just a few minutes down the road and has all of your shopping needs covered. The Heartland Town Centre is also within reach, occupies 204,387 square metres of space, and has 180 stores, making it one of Canada’s largest malls.

Mississauga Valley is abundant with parks for the residents to explore, notably Mississauga Valley Park and McKenzie Park. Mississauga Valley Park features tennis courts, sports fields, a baseball diamond, a children’s playground, and a splash pad. There are also walking paths and picnic areas for families to enjoy.

 

Along with the outdoor fields and park at the Mississauga Valley Community Centre, you’ll also find Stonebrook Park and Richard Jones Park, which connect with one another. These are excellent spots to walk the dog along the water or go for a run or a bike ride.

Mississauga Valley Community Centre and Library on Mississauga Valley Boulevard provides residents with the opportunity to participate in a wide array of programs geared to all age groups and many different cultures. The community centre is home to a full fitness facility, including swimming pools and a therapy pool. There is also an ice arena, a full gymnasium and baseball fields outdoors. The City of Mississauga also offers many leagues and classes that operate out of the centre.

 

Within the community centre is also the Terry Fox Fitness Centre, which is equipped with cardio and conditioning equipment, an aerobic studio offering group exercise classes, two squash courts, and personal training programs. The Terry Fox Pool is a 25-metre, six-lane, rectangular pool with a therapeutic tank beside the main pool.

Transit & Commute Times

Mississauga Valley is just east of the City Centre area in central Mississauga. Highway 403 is right up the street, and the QEW is approximately a 10-minute drive south. For commuters, the Cooksville GO Station is also very close by and can get you into downtown Toronto in 30 minutes during rush hour. The QEW/Gardiner will bring you to downtown Toronto in 30 to 40 minutes during rush hour.
