10 Amazing Homes From Amazon Prime’s “Luxe Listings Toronto”

The lifestyles of the rich and famous are on full display in Amazon Prime’s new series, Luxe Listings Toronto, which features this Bridle Path mansion and others.

The Toronto luxury real estate market plays the leading role in a new Amazon Prime Series.

Luxe Listings Toronto, which premiered on April 26, follows competing agencies as they battle it out over some of the most sought-after listings in the 6ix. But the drama is just a supporting act to the main stars of the show: multi-million-dollar properties. Luxe Listings Toronto takes viewers on tours inside homes most of us can only dream of. Mansions and penthouses — some of which aren’t even publicly listed for sale — are shown off in high definition, with lots of slick drone footage for good measure.  

Wahi did some detective work to track down 10 amazing homes that make appearances in the first seven episodes. Check them out below, and then head on over to Amazon Prime Video for the footage.

1. “The Bridle Path”

Where else to begin Luxe Listings Toronto than the Bridle Path, home to Toronto’s most exclusive addresses and a host of celebrities, including Drake. The 33,000-square-foot estate at 16 High Point Rd. — which at one time was Mick Jagger’s crash pad —makes a strong first impression with a grand foyer that boasts soaring 30-foot ceilings. It continues to impress with 12 fireplaces, an indoor pool, marble everything, and a private outdoor tennis court.

It wouldn’t be a show on Toronto real estate if it didn’t feature condos. The first unit to make an appearance is one of two iconic residences contained within a bridge spanning the Parade Condos at Concord CityPlace. “It’s crazy how small the buildings look from up here… the city doesn’t look as big from up here,” says realtor Caitlin Clemmens of the Starke Realty team. “They seem small because this thing’s 3,700 square feet, and we’re 33 floors up,” replies her boss, Brett Starke.

While the Bridge Suite isn’t on the market at the moment, there are nine other suites at 21 Iceboat Terrace currently listed on Wahi.

3. “The Secret Agent House”

In Episode 1, Peter Torkan, managing partner of The Agency, demonstrates the Secret Agent House’s secure smart-home tech by entering with a fingerprint scanner before giving his wife, Paige, a private tour. He pitches the 6,000-plus-square-foot modernist abode as the perfect home base for a spy — or Silicon Valley mogul, thanks to futuristic touches, such as triple-glaze bulletproof glass. It’s also loaded with spa-like amenities, including a basement dry sauna, steam room, shower, and jacuzzi. As of writing, it remains on the market, so it could be yours — if you’ve got $7 million laying around.

Introduced as the Rosebud Manor, this ridiculously opulent 24,000-square-foot home is no stranger to the spotlight. Prior to its appearance on Luxe Listings, it moonlit in another series you might’ve heard of: the Emmy Award-winning Schitt’s Creek. It’s also graced the pages of Toronto Life magazine. Admittedly, its blue-hued basement banquet hall might not be to everyone’s taste — a fact that isn’t lost on agent Peter Torkan in Episode 2 — but the manor’s undeniably luxe nonetheless.

5. “Grand Penthouse”

Last August, Tridel announced the sale of Aquabella’s Grand Penthouse. Presumably, it was still available when Luxe Listings was being filmed. Spanning two floors, the condo has 4,300 square feet of living space overlooking Toronto’s waterfront and Lake Ontario. For the best views, step out onto one of the unit’s two large terraces.

6. “The Rosedale Retreat”

Episode 3 spotlights another one of Toronto’s famously expensive neighbourhoods: Rosedale. Viewers are introduced to the area with an approximately 8,600-square-foot house that creatively melds Art Deco and modern styling. The home has a bright, updated basement — outfitted with a billiards and a wine cellar — that walks out onto the backyard backing onto a ravine and Toronto’s Beltline Trail (spoiler alert: there are no unfinished basements on this show).

This custom home in Oakville is practically made of money. Its movie theatre boasts a custom ceiling made by Rolls Royce — yes, that Rolls Royce — and is worth almost as much as a GTA condo ($350,000). Each of the theatre’s reclining chairs costs about $10,000 alone. Meanwhile, its gym and spa was built to the tune of $20,000, and the owners spent nearly $500,000 on the kitchen (the fridge alone has a $50,000 price tag). “There’s nothing generic about this house, everything is custom,” says Peter Torkan.

8. “Party Pad”

The series tends to focus on the GTA’s most affluent areas (the Bridle Path, Rosedale, King City, Oakville), so the Party Pad is a bit of a departure from the norm. The townhouse, part of the Townlofts infill development built about a decade ago, located just south of Trinity Bellwoods Park and trendy West Queen West, and was built for entertaining, featuring an interior waterfall, onyx bar, movie theatre, and rooftop terrace with a hot tub, as well as another below, a neat feature shared by all four homes in the development.

9. “The Last House”

The Last House isn’t the last house to appear in Season 1, but it was designed to be the last house that architect David Small would design for himself and live in. It’s also the first Mississauga home to make an appearance (it only took until the season finale!). In Episode 7, Small is considering putting the Mississauga mid-century modern bungalow on the market and explains how he designed it to seamlessly blend in with the surrounding nature, appearing to take cues from Frank Lloyd Wright. Small is no stranger to Mississauga, it turns out, and he’s designed a number of stunning homes in the city, like this one, and this one, and this one.

10. “The Oculus Mansion”
