5 GTA Homes With Olympic-Level Amenities

The property at 108 Sandringham Dr. in Toronto is an ideal venue for hosting a variety of land and water sports.

Toronto has never hosted the Olympic games.

Not that it hasn’t tried.

The city has made five unsuccessful bids, coming closest in its efforts to host the 2008 Olympics, which ultimately landed in Beijing.

That time, Toronto was runner-up.

Though Hogtown hasn’t proven its Olympic pedigree, the city has no shortage of world-class sporting amenities.

Major venues such as the Rogers Centre (it will always be SkyDome to us), Scotiabank Arena, or BMO Field may come to mind. But the concentration of wealth in Toronto means there are some private residences with world-class sports facilities of their own.

Given the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics are set to begin this week — the opening ceremony takes place on July 26 — we decided to scan the Wahi listings for GTA homes with epic Olympic-level amenities.

Clearly, this property is home to a sports fanatic. Framed jerseys and memorabilia hang in the roughly 5,000-square-foot mansion’s office. There are multiple football-themed bedspreads on display. And even the pool table is adorned with a Kansas City Chiefs logo.

Water sports or land sports — it’s all fair game at this early 12,000-square-foot north Toronto mansion.

There’s a salt-water pool for athletic aquatics, and a pool house with a wet bar for post-competition celebrations — or to drown your sorrows after a tough loss.  

An outdoor sports court is an ideal venue to shoot some hoops or perhaps face off in a game of ball hockey (though the latter is not an Olympic sport today, could be in the future if the National Ball Hockey Association of Canada gets its way!).

3. A Complete Olympic Compound

Here’s a residential property so chock-full of sporting amenities that you could practically host a Summer Olympics on-site.

Situated on an entire acre of land in northern Oakville, this property has its own putting green, sand-filled volleyball court, and a separate, larger sports court. 

The sports court has been designed to double as a hockey rink in the winter, and the listing photos suggest it has been put to good use.

4. The Olympian’s Off-Season Retreat

Strong mental conditioning is just as important as physical conditioning. This modern lakefront home in the Toronto suburb of Richmond Hill has everything an athlete would need for both.
