Take in the natural beauty of Canada in style from the comfort of these homes.
Canadian homebuyers value a good view.
For example, Toronto condos with waterfront views command an 8% premium, according to one study. If you’re in the market for a home with a stunning view, or just want to take in some sights yourself, check out the following five listings below.
1. 17 Prospect Heights, Canmore, Alberta

List Price: $8,700,000
The Property: A five-bedroom, six-bath custom home nestled along the banks of the Bow River. The location is a highlight of this listing, says Christopher Vincent, a senior vice president of sales at Sotheby’s International Realty Canada. The home is situated in a breathtaking natural setting but right near the heart of Canmore and all of its amenities. Vincent describes who this home should appeal to: “Someone who’s looking for some peace and some tranquility but also someone who has exquisite taste.”
The View: Take in totally unobstructed views of the Rockies from inside this sprawling 7,000-plus-square-foot mountain mansion. “You’re definitely drawn towards the windows,” says Vincent. “The views are pretty stunning. You’re able to see the entire mountain range,” he adds.
2. 716 Almberg Rd., Golden, British Columbia

List Price: $1,100,000
The Property: “If you’re looking for a cabin in the Rockies, it just gives you that feel,” listing agent Marlon Chambers tells Wahi of this five-bedroom, four-bath post-and-beam home. Log accents and a wood-burning stove in the main living area add to the cabin feel. Though undeniably cozy, the rustic dwelling was expanded in 2008 to roughly double the living space to about 3,000 square feet. “It went from a cabin to more like a home,” Chambers continues.
The View: “You definitely have awe-inspiring views of the Purcells,” says Chambers of the sights visible from the one-acre wooded lot, which also overlooks the Columbia River Wetlands.

3. 61 Buckingham Dr., Stillwater Lake, Nova Scotia

List Price: $979,000
The Property: A six-bedroom, four-bathroom detached home located in Stillwater Lake, known locally as Haliburton. “It’s a neighbourhood of homes with large lots and natural landscape — a lot of the trees are left up,” Teenie Morrison Grace, the Realtor representing the listing for boutique brokerage Red Door Realty, tells Wahi. Located just 20 minutes from Halifax, the home provides country living with access to all the essential amenities.
The View: “You’re right on the lake and you’re also adjacent to a park, so you really have the most privacy of just about any house in there. And the view across the lake is ever changing across the seasons,” says Morrison Grace. “There are eagles that life there, there are deer that cross your lawn, you can watch the ducks
4. 1 Bloor St. E., Unit 6805, Toronto, Ontario

List Price: $2,188,000
The Property: Approximately 1,700 square feet of opulent living space perched on the 68th floor of one of Toronto’s most recognizable skyscrapers, One Bloor East. “It’s one of the larger floor plans other than the penthouses,” says REALTOR® Christian Vermast of the two-bedroom, two-bath dwelling. “It’s been highly upgraded. The owner came from a house and highly upgraded [the unit],” he adds.
The View: “It’s very high up — it’s not for the faint of heart that kind of height,” says REALTOR® Christian Vermast. “When you go on to the balcony, you see basically to Niagara,” he adds.
5. 2191 Yonge St. Unit 5202, Toronto, Ontario
Photo Credit: DroneHub for Sotheby’s International Realty Canada
List Price: $3,690,000
The Property: One of only two units on the 52nd floor of Quantum 2 condos. The roomy 3,000-square-foot luxury suite has three beds and three baths and the current owner recently put in new engineered oak flooring and a humidifier system. “The living room/dining space is exceptional — this unit lends itself to entertaining,” says Jodi Allen, a senior vice president of sales at Sotheby’s International Realty Canada who is representing the listing with Andy Taylor, founding member of Sotheby’s International Realty Canada. “The kitchen’s so large, it’s a kitchen and family room. Having a family room in a condo is very rare,” Allen adds.
The View: In the world of Toronto condos, views often come and go. “As we go along in Toronto, it’s getting harder and harder to say your views are protected,” Allen tells Wahi. New construction blots out once-amazing views, but there’s little chance of that happening here as all the buildings facing the unit to the south top off below the 52nd floor. “It’s a spectacular view of the downtown core at night,” she describes.
