How does Wahi cashback get passed back to me?

For those looking to buy and sell – we offer up to 1.5% of the sale price back in cash after closing of your new home. For an average GTA property of $1M, that means $15K back in your pocket.

The buyer doesnāt pay commission, so where does the cashback come from?
When a home is purchased, the commission is typically paid by the seller on both sides of the deal. The buyerās brokerage receives their share of the commission from the listing brokerage after the transaction is completed.
For those looking to buy only – if we received 2.5% of the sale price in commission, Wahi would give 1.0% back to the buyer in cashback after we are paid.
For those looking to buy and sell with Wahi – if we received 2.5% of the sale price of the new home in commission, Wahi would give 1.5% back to the buyer in cashback after we are paid. Seller agent commission still applies – click here to learn more.
Why do you say 'up to 1.0% cashback' when buying with Wahi?
There is no catch. The reason we say āup toā is that we share a portion of our commission from the buy sale with you, and that amount of commission depends on the home seller, which could vary for each listing. When you buy with Wahi, we will take a minimum of 1.5% of the home purchase price as our buyer agent commission (we need to get paid too!) . We will give the rest of the commission to you in cashback. The commission amount is clearly listed on each home for sale on Wahi as Cashback. Your Wahi Realtor will always inform you of the available cashback amount before you buy so you always know what youāre getting back.
For example, If the seller offers 2.5% to the buying agent (Wahi), we would take 1.5% (if buying and selling) and give the rest (1.0%) to you after you close on the home. But if the seller is only offering 2% to the buying agent, Wahi would still take 1.5% and we would share the additional 0.5% with you.
