Trefann Court at a glance

On Toronto’s east side is where you will find Trefann Court, a small neighbourhood less than 10 minutes by car from the downtown core. Trefann Court is bound by River Street to the east, Shuter Street to the north, Queen Street East to the south, and Parliament Street to the west. Situated just north of the Distillery District and immediately south of Regent Park, this little urban pocket is both quaint and affordable. It features a mix of public and private housing options and has benefitted from the revitalization of the Regent Park neighbourhood, as well as the opening of the Distillery Historic District in the early 2000s. What the locals love about Trefann Court is that it has excellent transit options and provides access to many of the area’s top attractions, like the Distillery District, Allan Gardens, the St. Lawrence Market, and Riverdale Park. Plus, since its origins date back to the mid nineteenth century, many homes in the area are two and three-storey Victorian townhouses - perfect for families. That said, to attract a younger crowd, many of the area’s commercial buildings have been transformed into a mix of lofts, apartments, and condos. Green space is in abundance on Toronto’s east side, which allows Trefann Court residents to take advantage of it. The Sumach-Shuter Parkette is located within the neighbourhood and it features basketball courts and an outdoor ice hockey rink. Meanwhile, a short walk north will land you at Regent Park and the Pat McConnell Aquatic Centre, and a short walk south will have you at Corktown Common and Underpass Park. More than green space, Trefann Court boasts a high walkability score and easy access to the Don Valley Parkway and the rest of the city due to the presence of several TTC streetcar and bus stops.
