Ten minutes north of downtown Toronto lies the ritzy enclave of Summerhill. This Toronto neighbourhood is just south of midtown, boasting proximity to both Yorkville and Yonge-Eglinton. It is one of the most preferred neighbourhoods in the city, popular with residents of all ages, from young families to seniors. It is conveniently located along the Yonge Street Corridor, which means plenty of independent boutiques, coffee shops, art galleries, fitness studios, and restaurants. Summerhill Market is not to be missed, selling everything from fresh meat and seafood to baked goods and gourmet prepared meals. Other nearby attractions include Casa Loma and the Royal Ontario Museum. It also boasts tons of green space, like nearby Ramsden Park and David A. Balfour Park, along with tree-lined streets with a mix of historic houses. Victorian and Edwardian homes built in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries are common here. Buyers will find a mix of detached and semi-detached homes, though real estate can be hard to come by due to the area’s high price tag mixed with its popularity. Finally, access to Summerhill couldn’t be better, with the neighbourhood having its very own subway stop on Line 1, as well as several bus routes. Overall, Summerhill is a fantastic option if you’re looking to live somewhere that is close to the city and has urban amenities but that is also a quieter, upscale, more residential locale.
