These three search filters help you find the properties you want faster.

Wahi added three search filters to a search system that already includes numerous ways to narrow your search to help you find properties you’ll love faster. These additions let you look for specific features, set a property age range, and view only listings that offer virtual tours.

Why Faster Filters Matter

Canadian buyers often spend two to three months searching for a home, according to Wahi. Buyers often look for specific property details, sold prices and history, neighbourhood information, and detailed photos. These details help buyers decide which homes deserve a closer look.

Wahi has introduced three new filters to help buyers narrow down options before spending time looking at listings that aren’t a good fit.

Search for Features That Matter

Keyword filters let you narrow down listings by specific features. Open the filter menu and you’ll see preset options: air conditioning, balcony, basement with separate entrance, car-friendly, carpet floors. Select the filters that match what you are looking for and the search shows only homes that have it.

Looking for a basement with a separate entrance for rental income? Toggle it on and see only properties where this is already built in. Need air conditioning? Filter for it and skip everything that doesn’t have it.

The listed attributes cover features in a home that buyers are most interested in. Soon you’ll be able to search for any keyword that appears in a property description.

Filter by Property Age

The age range filter lets you set minimum and maximum years for how old a property is. You can filter for homes between 5 and 100 years old, adjusting both ends of the range.

Newer homes mean modern systems and less maintenance in the short term. Older homes often have character but need updates to electrical, plumbing, and insulation. The age filter lets you decide what trade-offs work for your budget and timeline.

Investors often look for older properties they can buy below market value to renovate. According to a recent Royal LePage survey, First-time buyers tend to want newer builds with fewer repair surprises.

See Only Homes With Virtual Tours

Turn on the “virtual tour”  filter to see properties that offer virtual walkthroughs. You can preview homes before booking in-person showings.

Virtual tours let you view multiple properties quickly without driving from property to property.. These tours provide a sense of layout and flow, so you can decide what’s worth seeing in person. This works well if you’re relocating and need to narrow options beforehand, or if you just want to browse on your own time.

Combine Filters

Combine filters to narrow your search. The filters work independently or in combination, depending on what matters most to you.

You can combine the age-range filter with keyword options to find homes built within a specific timeframe that have the features you need. For example,  a newer home under 15 years old with air conditioning and a balcony or an older property over 40 years old with a basement that has a separate entrance. The filters layer on top of each other to show you only properties that meet your criteria.

Add the virtual tour filter to any combination to preview properties remotely before deciding which ones to visit in person.. This cuts down the number of homes you need to visit while still giving you enough information to make an informed decision about the homes you want to see.

The more filters you use, the more focused your results become. Instead of scrolling through hundreds of listings and opening each one to check if it’s a fit, you’ll have a shorter list of properties to review that already match what you’re looking for.
