Aurora, Ontario offers a commute time of roughly 40 minutes to downtown Toronto. Situated directly north of the City of Toronto, Aurora is in central York Region, bordering Richmond Hill to the south and Newmarket to the north. The town is known for its affluent residents, high-quality educational opportunities, and natural heritage. It is home to several of the top public and private schools in the province, including St. Andrew’s College, along with The Hillary House National Historic Site, Horton Place, and W. Lewis Stephens House, all of which date back over a century. It is also home to plenty of conservation and natural areas, like Sheppard’s Bush, Thornton Bales Conservation Area, and the Aurora Community Arboretum. Part of the town of Aurora sits on Oak Ridges Moraine, which is one of Southern Ontario’s pre-eminent ecological features. Plus, Aurora is perfectly situated 40 minutes north of Lake Ontario and 40 minutes south of Lake Simcoe, providing even more exciting outdoor activities year-round. Such activities may include swimming, fishing, and boating during the summer and skating, sledding, skiing, and ice fishing in the winter. Thus, if it isn’t Aurora’s natural scenic beauty that wins you over, it might just be its charming 19th-century heritage, abundance of shopping and dining options, or high-ranking schools.
