Neighbourhood Review

Architecture

The Highway 427 Industrial area is just one of several industrial landscapes in Brampton. Other industrial pockets include Brampton Gateway, Highway 410 North Business Park, Bramalea South Gateway, and Highway 410 South, among others.

The Highway 427 Industrial pocket extends along Highway 50 on its eastern border and north to Mayfield Road. This northeast section of Brampton is one of the newest developments, offering prime industrial locations. Major developers like Orlando Corporation, First Gulf Development, Prologist Inc., and Gold Park are marketing this land in order to locate prospective tenants.

This real estate pocket blends office, prestige industrial and logistics with intersecting Highway 427 (with a proposed future extension).  It is close to CPT Intermodal, CN Intermodal, and the Toronto Pearson International Airport. This is a prime location for innovative industries.

Currently, larger industrial projects are being built along Countryside Drive, near Highway 50. The industries here enjoy good intermodal transportation, which means that freight can move quickly between trucks, trains, and cargo ships.

You’ll find enterprising businesses such as Air and Ocean Land Inc., Pilen Construction of Canada Ltd., Roma Fence Ltd., and Protosteel Industries Ltd. all within close proximity to transportation corridors.

Although an industrial hub, this area is also a popular site for estate homes and is one of the most expensive residential areas in Brampton. You’ll find 279+- square-metre estate homes with three-car garages on large lots. Not surprisingly, these homes are listed for $4+ million.

You’ll also find smaller detached homes and townhouses in the southern section of this neighbourhood. Many of these homes were built in the 1960s and 1970s during a building boom.

If you’re seeking a slower-paced and tranquil area, this neighbourhood is ideal because of its limited vehicle traffic and pedestrians.
