Roughly 50 minutes north of downtown Toronto is where you will find the quaint township of King City. Part of the Greater Toronto Area and the Municipality of York, King is situated on the Oak Ridges Moraine, which is what gives the area its characteristic rolling hills. It probably comes as no surprise that natural beauty abounds here. Residents have access to Thornton Bales Conservation Area, Cold Creek Conservation Area, and Goldie Feldman Nature Reserve, along with the King City Trail, Millar Side Trail, Happy Valley Forest Trail, and many more. In total, King features over 90 hectares of parkland and nearly 250 hectares of additional green space. The Holland River Marsh can be found in the northern part of the township. Outside of green space, King is one of the fastest-growing regions of the GTA, with the majority of residents choosing to settle in King City, the largest town in the area. Houses in King tend to be above average in size, making it attractive to locals and newcomers alike. Plus, the city offers a northern location that makes it convenient for cottage-goers in the summer, being just 35 minutes from Barrie and even less to the southern shores of Lake Simcoe. If you’re after a slower pace of life with access to urban amenities, King might be the GTA city for you.
