Lawrence Park is one of Toronto’s most historic and affluent communities. Nestled between Sherwood Park, the Blythwood Ravine, Sunnybrook Park (and the top-rated Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre), and the Alexander Muir Memorial Gardens, Lawrence Park is an idyllic place to call home. The neighbourhood is surrounded by green space, less than 20 minutes by car from downtown Toronto, and home to some of the city’s most beautiful properties. In fact, it is frequently listed as one of Toronto's most exclusive neigbhourhoods and was one of the city’s first planned garden suburbs. Unsurprisingly, today, Lawrence Park not only features some of the most expensive properties in all of Toronto but also several of the top-rated schools, including Crescent School, Toronto French School, and Havergal College, all of which are private. Nearby public schools include Bedford Park Public School, Blythwood Junior Public School, and Sunny View Junior and Senior Public School. Neighbourhood hotspots can be found up and down Yonge Street, which contains a myriad of gourmet restaurants, cafes, and bakeries. Near Yonge and Lawrence you will also find several upscale boutique shops selling everything from children’s clothing to sporting equipment. However, the Yonge-Eglinton Centre is also nearby if you’re looking for big box chain stores. The types of properties residents will find in Lawrence Park are largely multi-storey detached homes built in the Tudor Revival, Georgian, Colonial, and English Cottage styles. Thus, as you can imagine, they come with a hefty price tag. If you can afford to call Lawrence Park home, you can’t be beaten if you’re looking for a safe, quiet, and luxurious community in which to raise a family. Walkability and transit scores are high, with many amenities only a short distance away and access to Line 1 of the subway at Lawrence Station. You can also quickly drive downtown via Yonge Street or Mount Pleasant Avenue.
