If you’re looking for a place to call home in midtown Toronto, consider Allenby. Situated just west of midtown’s busy Yonge and Eglinton intersection, Allenby is bound by Avenue Road to the east, Latimer Avenue to the west, Eglinton Avenue West to the south, and Briar Hill Avenue to the north. It has lots to offer residents of all ages, whether you’re a young professional who wants to be close to the action at Yonge-Eglinton or a family looking for a quiet place to settle down. Allenby is home to a library, multiple schools (including Allenby Public School which is one of the top schools in the city and has a French Immersion program), a daycare, and is sandwiched between Memorial Park and Eglinton Park. The Kay Gardner Beltline Trail is also easily accessible from Allenby, which is a fantastic place for a walk, jog, or bike ride. Meanwhile, you have all the shops, restaurants, and cafes you could want along Eglinton and Yonge Streets, and the area is only growing. Plus, commuters can easily be downtown in 15 minutes by car or 30 minutes by subway (Eglinton subway is only a short walk from Allenby). The neighbourhood is largely dominated by Tudor-style single-family homes and bungalows, many of which have retained their historic charm. Another perk of living in Allenby is that the properties in this family-oriented neighbourhood tend to be larger than the average in Toronto. Allenby is a lovely place to call home, especially if you have children and are looking for a quieter place to settle down without leaving the city.
