Brock is situated northeast of Toronto, with commute times averaging roughly an hour and a half. This small community of 11,000 people is less than a 15 minute drive from the shores of Lake Simcoe and half an hour from the Kawartha Lakes region, making it the ideal destination for anyone after a small-town Ontario lifestyle. In Brock, residents can enjoy easy access to the natural beauty that surrounds them while still benefiting from the cultural, economic, and educational opportunities that living in the GTA offers. The Township of Brock is currently divided into three villages: Beaverton, Cannington, and Sunderland. Brock, which is known as the Smallmouth Bass Fishing Capital of Canada, offers plenty of activities to locals, ranging from fishing, hiking, and relaxing at the beach in the summer to snowmobiling, skating, cross country skiing, and snowshoeing in the winter. While the township may not have all the same luxuries as the big city, you will still find plenty of amenities here, including a number of local home decor, clothing, and antique shops, restaurants featuring all types of cuisine, and even a roller disco. Brock also has a vibrant arts and culture scene courtesy of the Beaverton Town Hall Players and the Sunderland Lions Club Community Theatre Group. If you’re looking for small town charm and proximity to the great outdoors but don’t want to give up proximity to Toronto, Brock might be for you.
