TransLink, which is the main form of public transportation in the Metro Vancouver Area, connects Mission with the rest of Vancouver. In fact, Mission is the farthest municipality that TransLink offers services to. The West Coast Express train service also transports locals from Mission to Vancouver in just over an hour. If driving is more your speed, Highway 7 runs directly through Mission and the Trans Canada Highway is not far away, which can take motorists into downtown Vancouver or further east into the BC Interior. For international travel, Abbotsford International Airport is immediately south of Mission, and Vancouver International Airport is located in Richmond. For healthcare services, Mission Memorial Hospital is located in the city, with other nearby hospitals including Ridge Meadows Hospital and Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre.

The Mission detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) works to keep Mission residents safe. That said, the area is not prone to natural disasters and has a low crime rate. Emergency services can be reached anytime by calling 9-1-1.

Something wonderful about Mission

Mission is full of green space. In fact, over 40% of the city consists of tree farms. It is one of just two cities in British Columbia with municipal tree farms (the other being Revelstoke). Beyond these tree farms, Mission is located near Golden Ears Provincial Park, which gives residents ample opportunities to swim, fish, paddle, hike, and camp all year. You can also visit Rolley Lake Provincial Park Davis Lake Provincial Park, and Cascade Falls Regional Park. Further, the city of Mission itself is home to many local parks, like Fraser River Heritage Park and Neilson Regional Park.
