Formerly a part of Toronto, the City of York has a population of roughly 100,000. It is bordered by Old Toronto<\/a>, North York, and Etobicoke. York is known for its highly-ranked schools and stellar transit system (the city is serviced by both the Toronto<\/a> Transit Commission and the GO Transit system). It is also home to vibrant Portuguese, Jamaican, and Italian neighbourhoods.
