The neighbourhood of Lynde Creek is situated in the southern part of Whitby and is bordered by Highway 401 to the south, Rossland Road and the train tracks to the north, Cochrane Street to the east, and Highway 412 to the west. <\/p>

Lynde Creek derives its name from the early U.S. immigrant, Jabez Lynde, who emigrated to the area in 1800 from Brookfield, Massachusetts.
