The Northeast Mississauga area borders the City of Toronto to the east and the City of Brampton to the north. This pocket is unique as it is geographically situated further east and does not adjoin any of Mississauga’s other neighbourhoods. For this reason, this part of Mississauga<\/a> has established a tight-knit, strong sense of community.<\/p>

Much of Northeast Mississauga surrounds the Toronto<\/a> Pearson International Airport as well as the industrial and commercial part of the city.<\/p>

Much of the Northeast area was originally settled by Irish and English settlers, many of which were buried in Moore\u2019s Cemetery. Northeast Mississauga’s housing stock consists of many wartime dwellings that date back to the 1950s. These simple no-frills bungalows and one-and-a-half storey houses resemble tiny saltbox-style homes with steeply gabled roofs, white or pastel veneer siding, and occasional adornments such as window shutters.<\/p>

Other homes were built between the 1960s and 1980s and include a mix of detached and semi-detached houses, sometimes with a brick-and-siding exterior or all brick and all siding.
