This area is a great neighbourhood to raise a family. It\u2019s close to many schools, a hospital, and several grocery stores. The original settlement of Brampton<\/a> started south of Sandringham-Wellington near the intersection of present-day Queen Street East and Main Street. Before this development, the only people living in the area were indigenous tribes such as the Huron-Wendat. Two of the first European settlers in the area were John Elliott and William Lawson. Both were members of the Methodist movement, a denomination of Protestant Christianity. Brampton was incorporated as a village in 1853. By that time, the community had a tavern, two stores, two blacksmiths, and a cabinetmaker. Most houses in Sandringham-Wellington are two-storey, detached buildings with lawns and a backyard. The buildings have brown- and red-brick facades and range in architectural styles, from neo-colonial to Victorian. Some homes also have stone facades. It\u2019s common for houses to have pillars and an awning on their front porch, and others have large patios or archways. Many homes have a double garage and a tree on the front lawn. The streets are wide and most have sidewalks on both sides. One of the closest cultural centres to Sandringham-Wellington is The Rose, a performing arts theatre. This theatre coordinates events for a variety of performances including musical artists,  Broadway shows, and comedians. It also orchestrates workshops for school children, internships, and provides resources for digital learning. Sandringham-Wellington is close to SilverCity Brampton Cinemas where you can catch Hollywood films and independent releases. One event you can\u2019t miss in Brampton is its yearly fair.
