This unique community was originally settled by James Hunter, an Irish immigrant. Hunter and his family were prosperous farmers and the Hunter descendants continued to operate farms in the area until the early 1900s.<\/p>

Throughout the 1900s, the area remained undeveloped until the Mount Pleasant GO Station opened in 2005. This unique village has a public square that features public art installations and a children’s playscape. A large reflecting pool transforms into a vibrant skating rink in the wintertime. A revitalized historic Canadian Pacific Railway station is showcased in the civic square and reminds locals of the community\u2019s historic roots. <\/p>
