According to a new report<\/a> by Re\/Max Canada, the province\u2019s cottage market is \u201cmore or less paused\u201d thanks to economic uncertainty, despite prices dropping in half of Ontario\u2019s recreational markets. Overall, 20% of those who feel less confident in the housing market this year than last say they\u2019re going to wait and see before buying or selling. Halton region\u2019s Roseland community sees waterfront homes selling for a regionally high premium of $353,750, while waterfront homes near the Scarborough<\/a> Bluffs average $300,000 over landlocked neighbours. According to the latest report<\/a> by Urbanation and Rentals.ca, asking rents dropped another 2.8% in April nation-wide, representing the 7th straight month of declines. In fact, Halifax was the only major city to see prices increase, while the rest of the country saw steep declines; especially in Calgary<\/a>, where asking rents dropped 10.4%. Rental rates were also down more than 5% in Toronto<\/a> and Vancouver.
